Well, that was sad, wasn't it? I don't know how they could make anyone care for the death of an irritating Mickey-the-Idiot-type character. And it brings the long-running Dead-Companions-Count up to three (although Rory has died twice already this series...) - but for some reason, I just don't think that he's gone forever.
Swallowing by a crack erases you from history, right? And he couldn't move as he was dead? So maybe the crack swallowed that dead Silurian over in the corner to?
Thus, the silurian would never have killed him, he would have run back and Amy would have remembered. But, for now at least, Rory is well and truly where he should be - dead. Where he does best.
